ABOUT SCARBOROUGH EXTREME

Scarborough Extreme is a showcase of activities that will push you to your limits!

Scarborough Extreme took place this summer on Saturday 12 – Monday 14 July 2025, where visitors were encouraged to unleash their inner adventurer and discover a wide range of exciting activities at various locations across Scarborough and the surrounding area.

Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or just someone looking to step out of your comfort zone, Scarborough Extreme has something for everyone. Featuring surfing, skateboarding, cycling, music, workshops and much more!

North Bay played host to a selection of activities and engagement sessions, including cycle coaching, balance bikes, roller skating, have-a-go surf sessions, paddling, rowing, motorbike relays from Oliver’s Mount Racing, martial arts demos, and performances. Free drop-in yoga classes were also available during the day.

Several of the sports’ National Governing Bodies were in attendance, providing more information on how you could get involved with extreme activities as a hobby. The North York Moors National Park were also on hand to offer free guided walks of the area.

The Wave Project and Scarborough Disabled Swimming Group showed how inclusive extreme sports can be, and discussed accessibility requirements. Additionally, there were all-day music performances from Sound of Scarborough, on top of 360 ALLSTARS, BMX and skateboarding displays from professional riders on a purpose-built ramp. There is was even the opportunity to try it out for yourself, with expert tuition.

Dissent Skate Shop and East Coast Skate Academy will be running a skate jam at Hairy Bob’s Skate Park on North Bay. Scarborough Boardriders will be holding a junior surf contest at Cayton Bay; Booking essential. The Street Rocks will be open from 1pm-4pm for free rock climbing sessions, as well as free yoga classes, zumba and tai-chi. And Everyone Active’s sports village is offering free taster sessions in a number of sports.

360 ALLSTARS will also be giving free workshops at Gallows Close, The Street and Eastfield.
